About Us

Who are we?

We are a community based non profit centre providing quality care and education tamariki 0-6yrs. Our Nursery is licensed for 20 tamariki (0-2yrs) and our Preschool is licensed for 30 tamariki (2-5yrs). Both our Nursery and Preschool encourage tamariki to take part in their own learning opportunities.

How we run?

As a community based non profit centre the day to day management is the responsibility of the Centre Director. The overall management is the responsibility of the Governance Committee. This Committee is made up from the parent body selected at the AGM.

We do fundraising activities and all money raised enables us to continue purchasing new equipment and resources for tamariki.

Our vision

At BNP we work collaboratively to ensure tamariki grow as confident and competent life-long learners. We aim to equip tamariki with dispostions, skills and knowledge that nutures their mana.

We aim to create an early childhood centre of choice in the Selwyn District that is responsive to the chaning needs of whanau and the community. We want to maintain a sustainable environment through full rolls and low adult to child ratios which is supported by professional trained kaiako committed to ongoing learning.

We want biculturalism to become embedded into our practice to honour Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Kaiako are employed for their knowledge, enthusiam and commitment to tamariki. Our kaiako are qualified and our relievers have many years of experience. All our kaiako hold first aid certificates.

We have excellent staff ratios to ensure all children receive the best care and education.

We have a well-equipped kitchen that provides nutritional food for tamariki.

We provide fruit and snacks for morning and afternoon tea (for example fruit, sandwiches, mini muffins) and a substantial midday meal. When your pepi is eating solids we will provide the appropriate food requirements (veges or introduction to meat).

We are a nut free centre, this means that no nuts are included in any of our meals.

Menus are displayed on the parent notice board for viewing.
